Moscow and Israel – prospects for cooperation in tourism
The issue of tourism development became the main topic of discussion at another meeting of the Mixed Moscow-Israeli Commission for Business Cooperation, which was held in Tel Aviv. The event was attended by a Moscow government delegation headed by the Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Moscow Department of External Economic and International Relations Sergey Cheremin.
During a roundtable discussion, the two sides talked about key global trends in the tourism market, issues of government support for tourism, the development of the hotel industry, and formats for the implementation and marketing of tourism products. Moreover, there were startup presentations by Israeli companies.
According to Mr. Cheremin, these kinds of events play a big role in the development of cooperation between Moscow and Israel. “We have a chance to share experience, discuss joint initiatives, and talk about issues related to long-term cooperation,” the head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations said.
Key speakers included Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Tourism Committee Tatiana Sharshavitskaya, Advisor to the Mayor of Tel Aviv Ilana Michaeli, and Director of the Tel Aviv Hotel Association Oded Grofman.
The business program also included meetings between the Moscow Government Minister with the Mayor of Jerusalem Moshe Lion and representatives of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.
Summing up the results of the meeting, Sergey Cheremin said he hopes Moscow and israel will implement a lot of productive projects in the future.
